Mr. Warren Spencer, in-house contract counsel for Wurts & Associates beginning in 2012, has more than 20 years of legal experience relating to hedge funds, investment funds and investment banking.

Prior to Wurts, Mr. Spencer held the position of Chief Legal Officer for Ophrys, LLC, since its inception in 2006. During his tenure with Ophrys LLC, he provided legal and tax advice regarding investment funds, asset backed financing pools, financial asset purchase agreements, hedge fund agreements, equity subscriptions, and debt financing.

Mr. Spencer served as a legal and tax advisor regarding investment funds, investment banking and asset acquisitions from his offices in London, Brussels and Seattle prior to joining Ophrys, LLC. He also previously served as in-house legal counsel for Klesch & Company, Ltd, a private investment firm based in Geneva, London and Moscow. His responsibilities included legal and tax analysis regarding acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures and disposals, UK collective investment programs, and contractual agreements for the purchase and sale of corporate and sovereign debt.

Mr. Spencer is a Sloan Fellow of the London Business School, holds a Masters of Law in Tax (LLM) from the University of Florida, a Doctorate in Jurisprudence (JD) from Willamette University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Washington, in Seattle Washington. He is a member of both the Washington State Bar Association and the Oregon State Bar Association.
